Fun with Writing

Assalamu Alaikum:)

Alhamdulillah got some time to Blog.
$weetie started to hold her pencil when she's 2 years old, I loved the way she writes (exactly scribbles lol) and names it. So on that day on wards I made her some worksheets and some learning papers (only on writing and drawing coz I didn't know there was worksheet available).

So now a days (after knowing the available worksheets) I print a worksheet and give to her, after she's done with it, she ask again and again. Her favorite is matching, and now Mashallah tracing has joined in her favorite list. So the problem is i'm printing a huge amount of worksheets everyday, I thought to do it myself like earlier and realized the waste of time and my $weetie's patience till I finish. So I was searching for a solution and something clicked me, I have seen a binder book in a blog which the blogger has bought for her kid which has a lot of activity in it and the best thing is, it can be written and erased with a marker and a duster, I think some of you know this but this was very new to me. So with that idea i did something like this;

Bought markers, duster and some display books, made sure to see the size fit A4 sheet papers. Printed a lot of activity worksheets. Put them in the display book and that's it, after writing as much as your kids want, erase it and get ready to write again.

These are my display books which $weetie calls "marker books".The green display books holds all the activity sheets in it and i'm filling it with new ones too, and also $weetie's favorite.

The black display book contains Arabic worksheets that I make according to our lesson. So far we had done uptil Tha, and the Alif letter is taken out for $weety to do. 

And the blue display book contains our English alphabet worksheets which I also fill according to our lesson so far we had done uptil C

Letter A was taken out for $weetie.

I did this single display cover for $weetie to write a worksheet that I need her to concentrate for writing practice. For this I took off a page from the display book and sealed its vertical side with a sealer so I could change sheets in it.

After $weetie writes I'll make sure that she does erase before closing, coz if we erase after one day the ink will be a little visible, when its visible i'll put a drop of cologne onto duster and wipe the pages so it turns like a new one. 

Alhamdulillah these books make $weetie to sit and write and a great way for writing practice and I also see this as a worth time pass for my $weety. All praise is due to Allah for the idea and a solution he gave me to save ink from the printer (I really mean it) and for everything he provided us. 

  

  

  

Kitchen Time!!!

Assalamu Alaikum

I gave two weeks holiday for my nursery, so i thought to have some activity in the kitchen with $weetie. We had a lot of fun and love the moments we spent together.

Then i thought of doing something very interesting for her, so downloaded some printable kitchen items flash cards (but not satisfy with it), and a kitchen related simple story in Arabic Curriculum. So this is a pretty kitchen set that my mother bought from Makkah 10 years ago, which she loves it and kept in her hall cupboard. We used this a bit to learn the names of the kitchen items.

She recognized the items when i explained to her and she kept the cards where it fits.

Some real tea time!!

Yes!! a very simple story to bake a cake & she loved it!!!

It says the items we need to bake a cake in a childish way.

She saw the pictures and pointed to the items

Now let's get started!!

Whisked the sugar & the flour together

Then the eggs one at a time.

After everything is combined mix the baking powder with the flour

And then slowly add the flour with the batter

And then whisk or fold it with a spatula.
(she wants to whisk so i let her)

Pour the vanilla essence, fold it.

And then add the milk, fold well.


I thought of baking a cake, and changed my mind to make cupcakes coz its cute, small  and she loves them.

Put the batter in a piping bag and fill the cups. 

After baking, made the icing till they cool.  

Alhamdulillah!! cupcakes ready for tea.She shared them with her cousins and everybody loved it.

Shapes Street

Assalamu Alaikum :D

Last week we learned the basic shapes and did some collage. To review we did a small project. Mashallah it went well. The kids were playing while I sat on the floor and opened the project. It got their attention and came to sit with me, I explained them what to do and they were excited including my sweet $weetie.

The Project...

I drew this on a Bristol board with different colours using my plastic shapes. 

And cut the shapes with the same colours I drew.

This is what i did;

First took the circles and kept it on a board, then i pointed to a circle in the Bristol board and said " What is this shape? (answer). Can you find me the same colour of the shape?". $weetie is the first to give me (she is the one who always wants to be first when it comes to group work, only group work) and we pasted it.  I asked them just once and Mashallah $weetie and others got it and they did all by themselves, of course I was there for pasting help. The project in progress;

All set. $weetie said the middle house and car is her's LOL!

With a little touch up with crayons I attached it to the wall for her.
 There our Shapes Street on the wall. Done Alhamdulillah.
  

As soon as Abi came $weetie dragged him to the class and showed her house and her car, she really loves it. Whenever someone comes  home she still drags them to class.
