Arabic with Ice

Assalamu Alaikum

We did an ice activity with Arabic Alphabet letters. I filled a plastic bucket of water and dropped all the Arabic Alphabets in and froze it overnight in the freezer. When I presented it to $weety she very excited and asked "what did you do ummi?" and went right away to explore it without waiting for the answer.

Finding and naming the letters which are hidden and talked about how the ice felt, "very coool ummi!!!"

Then I asked her "would you like to take the letters out?" she said "No ummi that will come out". So she waited and waited and lost her patience, took a hammer and banged!!

She also chipped some ice with a screw driver.

And then we tried it with some salt on the ice

Subhanallah it was amazing, how the salt makes the ice melt fast and it also created ravines as it melts.

At last a letter popped out

I was admiring the effects on the ice made by the letters and salt, but $weety was so interested in taking the letters out.

So we tried it with water and $weety added salt in it.

trying to pull some letters out

Some letters sticking out

Finally all the letters was free.

When $weety takes a letter out she would name it and I would ask what object will start from this letter? Alhamdulillah she answered it all. $weety knows her letters very well, but I needed her to revise it with a fun activity going along without realizing that i'm revising, coz she hates revising.

Alhamdulillah I can see $weety progressing in Arabic. She is pronouncing her Makhraj well and is writing the letters in order too. Below are the homework worksheets given by her Muallimah. Once I explained her what we must do, she ran to the class and said me not to come while she finishes. I was like "oh my god I need to do a lot of erasing". After a while she came up with these.

I know the "Raa" and "Zaa" must be other side, but this is what she wrote and I don't want to disappoint her.

I was very happy and speechless, I was hoping up and down with excitement and gave a lot of hugs and kisses to my dear daughter who wrote this without any fuss and any mistakes (except for the "Raa" and "Zaa". Coz writing is not her thing, not at all, but Alhamdulillah what I realized here and learned with my $weety is for everything Allah has kept a time, before that we couldn't expect everything will come as we wish. All we could do is keep up what we do and raise our hands to the one who is doing everything.

$weety's Arabic Madrasah

Assalamu Alaikum

Arabic language is so important to me than English or any other language coz it's the language of our Rabb and the language to understand The Quran and the language of our beloved Prophet (sal).

Everything $weety learns from me, Everything that I teach her, I do the best with my knowledge, except Arabic. I and my Hubby really love to engage her with Arabic from the beginning of homeschool. But the sad part is I have no knowledge of the Language.

So we made a lot of Dua's regarding for a Best Arabic Madrasah, and began to search for one. And Alhamdulillah found one with some help from a good friend (may Allah grant her the best)

So after all the procedure my little girl went to her first Madrasah on Rabbi Al Thaani 5th 1435 -  5th February 2014, Mashallah she's very very happy about it and love to go. And I pray to Allah to keep that pure love only for him till the end and to give her the best knowledge with Akhlaq, Iman and Taqwa. Ameen!!!.

MySelf & My Family

Assalamu Alaikum

Still it's last year with $weety, We did Myself and My Family

For Myself first I made her look at the mirror and talked how Allah has created us beautiful. We then discussed the difference between her appearance and mine and how Allah is so powerful to make the differences although we have the same parts and that just made me say "Subhanallah what a perfection in his creation. And then set off to do something funny with her. I traced her!!!

$weety slept on a large paper and I outlined her with a pencil

She got up and was excited, said 'ummi is that me, I'm in a paper" lol
Then she began to outline with a felt pen

Then she drew the parts of the face and measured her height and weight

She enjoyed drawing her face again on the whiteboard, cute ha!

Then the parts of the mouth, I drew the the lips and she drew the teeth and.....tongue

Then we did name practice, kept some wooden letters and wrote her name

Mashallah she did it and spelled the sounds too!!
And now Alhamdulillah she can write her name

And for My Family, we did a lot of talking and discussed the roles of the family members and their duties, and to thank Allah for giving us a beautiful family. I made some printables according to how she understood and the talk we had.

Pasting the pictures of the family

Matching with names

Circling the appropriate dresses

And a lot more such as the work, things and the roles which I didn't take the shots, coz she needed my help and wanted to tell a story for each work. We read some books online related to the theme. I planned a lots of activities for her but did only what she wanted. Which was Alhamdulillah.

Last Year with $weety

Assalamu Alaikum

We did some activities last year when $weety was three and didn't get the time to post it, Thought to post one by one but the time's passing and I thought mustn't make it later than this so just posting the pics to remember the fun we enjoyed

  • When she was curious about "Big and Small", This was the first activity we did, with the First Math activity book.

Collected all the materials I could find and asked which was small and big?

At the end I asked out of all these things which is small? And Alhamdulillah she pointed to the small beads which was small.

  • Sorting Shapes, Colors and Sizes

At the beginning she only sort half of a set and she's done.  Mashallah one day she did all the three sets.

  • Sets 4 pieces of puzzles

When I bought it she couldn't set and began to put away in the box, later on she gave a try and Mashallah she did all four puzzles on her own.

  • Sorting small, medium and big

  • Sorting my new pots with lids

It's shining ha!!

  • Copies a model

The model was made by me and she quickly started to build and Mashallah still when she takes the blocks she builds the same model first and proudly show me "Ummi's house" (or should i say tower ;)
And also she builds some fascinating models too..which astonishes me, coz she didn't had slight interest in building blocks at first. Always she does is throw and calls me "trouble Ummi" when I take the blocks and start building MY OWN.

  • $weety's first matching

Got the small cards from Almah's Journey and the big one from TJ's blog which is not working now.

  • First time with the play dough

What did we make??!! .....mmmm.....i think its a...... it looks like a flower pot......aahh! yes a flower pot!!!

Alhamdulillah for the time I spent with my precious one, Alhamdulillah to the one and only who makes my Children learn and grow in front of us And Alhamdulillah for giving us the.....happy.. awesome feeling by wathching them grow.
